You're going to get WAY better results with our prescription treatments, than OTC ones, but I bet you figured that out already!
Nevertheless, there are things you can do to help your skin with vitamins and supplements.
Dr. Eads' recommendations:
1) Zinc
Zinc is a "heavy hitter" when it comes to acne. Many studies have shown its value in clearing up acne.
We recommend shooting for about 50-60 mg daily. Zinc can upset your stomach, so take it on a full stomach, divided doses, and start low and work your way up.
We recommend zinc EZ melts 30 mg twice a day, with food so you don't get queasy.
2) Vitamin A 25,000 IU
Again, our usual disclaimer to avoid in pregnancy and other conditions and consult with a doctor. But Vitamin A can be very useful for acne.
Of course there are innumerable other home remedies and ideas that can be tailored to you.
Men who shave may notice that our shaving recommendations help. There are antibacterial soaps such as Hibiclens that can help. OTC cleansers abound for the treatment of acne, and we can give you specific recommendations.... just make an appointment with us!
